Oracle Key Manager - Version 2.1 to 2.5.2 [Release 2.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
Is it possible to restore the production KMA database and keys (for example, OKM 2.5.2 build 1356) to the appliances running KMS 2.2?
Is it possible to restore KMA database and keys created on a newer OKM release to a KMA running on an older KMA release?
Solution
You can not restore the database backup created from a newer OKM release to a KMA running an older OKM release.
But, you can restore a backup created from an older OKM release to a KMA running a newer OKM release.
However, the Transfer Partner function will allow you to import keys from newer OKM release to a KMA running an older OKM version.
For example, you can import keys from your 2.5.2 KMA onto your DR site's 2.2 KMA.
The restore and transfer partner functions are discussed in the OKM Disaster Recovery Guide and in the Administration Guide.
