Goal

T10000 - Physical Difference Between Cartridge Type T1 and T2.

ORACLE DATA SHEET STORAGETEK T10000 TAPE CARTRIDGE FAMILY
Oracle’s StorageTek T10000 and T10000 T2 tape cartridges work in tandem with Oracle’s StorageTek T10000, T10000B, T10000C, and T10000D tape drives to address issues related to data growth, security, manageability, and cost.

Solution

The media identification labels for T10000 cartridges have unique letters:

- T1 identifies the standard data and standard VolSafe cartridges for the T10000A/B

- T2 identifies the standard data and standard VolSafe cartridges for the T10000C.

There is no external physical difference between the cartridges.  The only difference is the serigraphy, in T2 cartridges show us "Storagetek T10000 T2". See the pictures below:
