Goal

T10000D - Tray Status and Maintenance LEDs in SL8500 Library

Solution

Rear Drive Panel

The LEDs are single color: STATUS is green and MAINTENANCE is yellow. There are no light pipes between the drive and the back of the tray. The 2 LEDs are on a card. (TLED Card)

Tray Status LED:

- Green LED only (on solid): Indicates the drive is functional.

- Green LED only slow flashing: The drive is in boot monitor mode.

- Green LED only fast flashing: The drive is in IPL mode.

Tray Maintenance LED:

- Yellow LED only (on solid): The drive is in maintenance mode.

- Yellow LED only fast flashing: The drive is in dump mode.

Tray LED Combinations:

- Green LED and Yellow LED on solid: The drive needs to be serviced.

- Green LED and Yellow LED alternating for one cycle: The drive is resetting.

- Green LED and Yellow LED alternating for one minute: Visual indication to identify the drive for a specific purpose.

- Green LED and Yellow LED off: The drive is powered down.
