Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Capture the Linux text output from HBC/HBC-R or HBT card to troubleshoot hang issue.

Solution

 1. Using the FE serial cable (same cable as used to connect to the CLI port), connect the RJ-45 connector to the RS232 port on the HBC/HBC-R panel.
     (The HBT has the RSVD2 port for the same purpose !!!)
     Note: no login or password required .
2. Connect the other end of the cable (DB-9) to the serial port on your laptop.
3. Launch HyperTerminal or STdsWin and setup the communication port as follows:
    Baud Rate: 38,400
    Data bits: 8
    Parity: N
    Stop bits: 1

4. Record the data.

5. Save and close when finished.

6. Submit to L2 or Library Engineering via Bug entry.
