I understand that the drives are encryption capable, however I read someplace that IBM LTO-5 drives though capable, IBM LTO5 still requires a separate Belisarius card to communicate with OKM. HAC who has an existing Oracle customer running SL500 with LTO-4 drives. There is a need now to encrypt the data written to the drives. The customer is currently not willing to upgrade his current drives/ library and wants to use encryption on the existing hardware. This requirement is a fit for OKM. However, I have a query. How does one confirm that the LTO-4 already installed in the library supports encryption ? The details of the Drive are: Drive: IBM ULTRIUM TD-4 Firmware : 94D7 GoalIBM LTO - LTO Encryption Support SolutionIBM LTO5 and LTO6 drives all ship with the Belisarius card, the IBM LTO4 does not. Should there be a need to upgrade the IBM LTO4 drive for encryption, an Encryption Upgrade Kit would be required so the drive can be used with the OKM Encryption Appliance. Conversion Bill 003-5165-01 for the upgrade kit for drives already installed. XIBLTO4EFCUPL500-N is the Marketing Part Number for the kit. IBM LTO4 FC encryption drive upgrade kit: ■ Serial to Ethernet interface card, cabling, drive tray back-plate. <-----(Bel card is the interface card) ■ Need serial# of existing drive tray. ■ RoHS compliant
