It is always good practice to ensure the IP addresses selected are falling in right group of Subnet address depending on Subnet mask.

Here in above example, the gateway ip address and ip address of net mgmt port intended to configure for given subnet mask, were from different Subnets, and hence ILOM refused to configure network IP addresses.

Goal

Problem statement:
Not able to set IP address to net management port of SP.

i.e.
-> set /SP/network commitpending=true
set: Unable to configure network

Given:
============================
  pendingipaddress = 192.168.183.191
  pendingipdiscovery = static
  pendingipgateway = 192.168.183.206
  pendingipnetmask = 255.255.255.240
============================

Solution

For the 192.168.183.206 gateway network address, with subnet mask 255.255.255.240 (/28), the valid range of addresses are from 192.168.183.193 to 192.168.183.206.  A total of 14 IP addresses are available, with the network address 192.168.183.192/28, and the broadcast address 192.168.183.207.

Suggestion was to try 192.168.183.193 instead of 192.168.183.191 to resolve the issue.
