Solution

 Prerequisites:

 - Start NVIDIA MediaShield with Click Start -> All Programs -> NVIDIA Corporation -> MediaShield -> MediaShield. Confirm the status of a mirrored volume with using NVIDIA MediaShield. In case of an intermittent failure disk, the failed disk will be recognized as another volume. As a result, one mirrored volume can be separated with two volumes.

 - Determine a faulty disk with checking event viewer on Windows. Look for event log from service:NVRAIDSERVICE

 1. Shutdown and power off the server

 2. Replace a disk drive with the procedure which is described on the following manual.

4.4.3 Replacing a Hard Disk Drive and Carrier

 3. Power on the server and monitor the console of the server

 4. Hit F10 Key to enter MediaShield ROM BIOS during the server boot.

Please NOTE. MediaShield ROM BIOS is available when nVidia RAID function is enabled on system BIOS.
If MediaShield ROM BIOS is not appeared during the server boot, please ensure the function is enabled.

Please see the following manual for more information how to enable nVidia RAID function.

10. Hit [Ctrl+X] for Exit. Note)  Please proceed to boot Windows. Even the status is "Rebuild" at this point, actual rebuild activity may not be started until Windows boot.

11. Boot Windows

12. Confirm the version of NVRAID driver.

1.) Click Start -> Control panel -> Systems
    2.) Select [Hardware] tab
    3.) Click [Device Manager] button
4.) Click [+] on [SCSI and RAID controllers]
5.) Select [NVIDIA nForce 590/570/550 Serial ATA Controller] and right click and select [Properties]
6.) Select [Driver] tab and see Driver Version

device-manager

If it is 5.10.2600.678 or below, please disable "Native Command Queuing" with the following step. This is required for a workaround of a bug on "command queuing" functionality on NVIDIA RAID. It is fixed by patch 10367050: X2200 M2 SW 2.2.0 and the later release. Therefore, if the installed driver is not 5.10.2600.678 or below, please go to step 13. to check the progress of the rebuild.

7.) Select [Primary Channel] tab and confirm if [Enable command queuing] is unchecked. If it is enabled, uncheck it to disable and click [OK]. Then [No] for "Do you want to restart your computer now ?"
8.) Select [Secondary Channel] tab and confirm if [Enable command queuing] is unchecked. If it is enabled, uncheck it to disable and click [OK]. Then [Yes] for "Do you want to restart your computer now ?"

13. Log on to Windows and run NVIDIA MediaShield with Click Start -> All Programs -> NVIDIA Corporation -> MediaShield -> MediaShield and check the progress of rebuild.

14. Wait for the completion of the rebuild. Estimate time to complete it is approximately 90 minutes for SATA 250GB Disk Drive.
