Have a customer who currently has two SL8500's (A & B) attached via pass-thru-ports. They are planning to remove the B library from the configuration and ultimately powering it down. The customer will make the necessary libgen changes. But, on the hardware end, other than disconnecting the ethernet cord from port 1A on library B and powering down the PTP's, is there anything else that I need to do? Should library A be rebooted to "discover" the new configuration? GoalHow to disconnect a SL8500 library from a multi library complex. SolutionRecommend the following: - Take the related ACS offline from HSC (Host Software Component). - Vary PTP offline in SLC (Streamline Library Console). - Take library_b offline via SLC. - Power down the PTP (Pass-Thru-Port) and de-install or disconnect the cables at the back of the PTP. - De-install/power down the ILC switch and related cables; port_1A on both libraries. - Power down lib_b via PDU breakers. - Reboot library_a via SLC. - Via SLC verify all related components initialize correctly. - Re-audit the library_a via SLC. - Reconfigure the ACS in HSC <update the libgen>. - Vary the ACS online in HSC. - Run HSC audit. - Display the status of the ACS in HSC and verify all the ports are online.
