Goal

Confirm if the SL500 supports LTO6.

Support of HP or IBM LTO-6 tape drive on SL500 Library.

The SL500 1483 code was tested with SLC 5.80
Added SL500 support for future HP Generation 6 LTO drives and media cartridges.
Note: Tape drive availability is independent of library code. If or when this particular drive will become available is unknown at this time.

The SL500 1485 code was tested with SLC 6.00.
Fixed issue that could, on rare occasions, cause erroneous tape alerts to be set for an HP LTO 5 or LTO6 drive in ADI mode. This issue could also cause drive data performance to degrade.

Note:

The decision was made to only go with HP LTO6 drives in the SL500 and that those drives would only be available as upgrades to customers that already have purchased a SL500. So you can't order a new SL500 with the LTO6 drives.
