Goal

How to reset F20 ESM UPTIME on x4540

Solution

After replaced F20 ESM (Energy Storage Module), we need reset ESM UPTIME.

The SunFire x4540 range of platforms do not included the ILOM "faultmgmt" function. So we need follow the below procedure to reset UPTIME.

Before ESM replacement:

/SYS/MB/PCIE0/F20CARD/UPTIME
Properties:
type = Power Unit
ipmi_name = PCIE0/F20C/UT
class = Threshold Sensor
value = 17900.000 Hours <------here
upper_nonrecov_threshold = 17500.000 Hours

Reset UPTIME after ESM replacement:

-> cd /SYS/MB/PCIE0/F20CARD/UPTIME
/SYS/MB/PCIE0/F20CARD/UPTIME

-> reset
Are you sure you want to reset /SYS/MB/PCIE0/F20CARD/UPTIME (y/n)? y
Performing reset on /SYS/MB/PCIE0/F20CARD/UPTIME

Resulting output:

-> show

/SYS/MB/PCIE0/F20CARD/UPTIME
   Targets:
