Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1551849.1 : OKM - Is it possible to change the Master Key
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-7154646181> Applies to:Oracle Key Manager - Version 1.1.0 to 2.5.2 [Release 1.0 to 2.0]Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalIs it possible to change the Master Key? SolutionIf the master key used to encrypt the data is lost or changed, the data that were encrypted using the Master key will not be retrieved from the tapes they are on. This is the reason we emphasize that core security backup is critical. The only way that the master key can change is by creating a new OKM and then, create Transfer Partners with the old OKM. The data units can then be exported from the old OKM and then imported into the new OKM. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
