Goal

Why is the Qlogic 64 Bit Driver SUNWqlcx package not installed on Solaris 10 system?

Solution

The 64-bit qlc driver is actually in use, "SUNWqlcx" is only applicable to pre-Solaris 10 OS releases.

To verify and demonstrate this, issue the following command:

# pwd
/kernel/drv/sparcv9
# file qlc
qlc: ELF 64-bit MSB relocatable SPARCV9 Version 1
