Trying to figure if we support anything on AS400 pre 5.4 as our support matrix states that IBM and Oracle have ended support of V5R3 in April of 2009.
We have a customer running 9310 with 74 x 9840A and 5 x 9840C's and were proposing to move them to SL8500 with 12 X T10000C drives.
The challenge is that they're running at OS 5.3 and planning to go to 6.1 on to Iseries5 and RMLS 1.3 up to ptf6.

 StorageTek IBM i Connectivity – AS400 Support Matrix on Oracle Tape Drives

Solution

 T10KC is only tested and supported on V6R1 and above, it is not supported below V6R1.
