Solution

Current code for SL48 Tape Library - H.10 - patch id 128439-10 , released on Jun/28/2012 and here is the readme file link -

HP LTO5 has been supported since G.20 - patch id 128439-07, released on Feb/01/2010

Following patch 128439 for SL48 firmware. The README includes this comment:

128439-07
Changes from G.00 to G.20
Product Enhancements:
1) Support added for next generation HP LTO5 tape drives.

There have been LTO5 related fixes in the more recent updates.
