Goal

Explain how to collect explorer and snapshot for the Fujitsu M10/M12 Servers

Solution

Currently explorer and snapshot are ran separately ; Explorer CAN NOT gather both Solaris info (explorer default module) and the XSCFU snapshot.

To gather explorer, simply install the latest on to the ppar (physical partition) and run it.  See <Document 1153444.1> for more detailed instructions on downloading and installing explorer.

To gather the XSCFU snapshot, via USB thumbdrive , or  network, see examples below

     XSCF> snapshot -d usb0 -r -a
     Testing writability of USB device....SUCCESS
About to remove all files from device "usb0". Continue? [y|n] : y
     Collecting data from BB#00....SUCCESS
     Collecting data from BB#01....SUCCESS
     Collecting data from BB#02....SUCCESS
Example of running snapshot to a remote host:
  XSCF> snapshot -a -L F -t <username>@<hostname or IP address>:<location to write to>

XSCF> snapshot -a -L F -t m10-gateway@192.168.100.1:/export/home/mike
Downloading Public Key from '192.168.100.1'...
Public Key Fingerprint: ce:5f:1a:ce:3c:8f:43:fa:b1:1c:f0:db:68:4a:3c:fd
Accept this public key (yes/no)? yes
Enter ssh password for user 'm10-gateway' on host '192.168.100.1':
Setting up ssh connection to m10-gateway@192.168.100.1...
Collecting data into m10-gateway@192.168.100.1:/export/home/mike

If unable to run a snapshot then the following command outputs should be captured for troubleshooting an issue:
version -c xcp
showpcl -a
showboards -a
showhardconf
showpparstatus -a
showcod
showcodusage
showlogs error
showlogs monitor
showlogs -p # console
showlogs -p # panic
