For Tape Libraries: SL150/SL48/SL24/SL3000/SL8500/SL4000

For STK Tape Drives: T10000A/T10000B/T10000C/T10000D/9840D

For LTO Tape Drives: HP & IBM 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8

Solution

Log into My Oracle Support (MOS) with a valid Oracle Account: https://support.oracle.com/

Select the "Patches & Updates" tab.

Under the Patch Search, select the Search tab and click on the "Product Family (Advanced)" link

Under "Product" fill out the Library or Drive you would like to Download the Firmware of (With key words like SL150, SL24, SL48, LTO; the space will be autofilled).

Select the available "Release" and click on the Search button on the bottom right corner of the tab.

Choose the latest version to Download.

To Upgrade FW on any of the Libraries, you can do it from the Remote Web Console via the IP of the library.

To Upgrade FW on STK Tape Drives, you'll need the VOP tool: Tape - How to Download StorageTek Software (SLC, VOP, ACSLS) via Oracle Software Delivery Cloud (E-Delivery) (Doc ID 1321007.1)

To Upgrade FW on LTO tape drives, you'll need the HP LTT Tool or IBM LTDT tool

HP LTT: Download the LTT tool from the following KB: HP LTO - Where to Find and Download the HP LTO Library and Tape Test Diagnostic Tool (Doc ID 1014570.1)

The HP LTT application can be acquired from a L1 or L2 Tape Technical Support Center Representative.

Contact Oracle Tape Technical Support to acquire the ITDT tool.

Download the required tool version from the Tape Support website: IBM ITDT tools are listed under the "Reference" -> "Tape Product Tools" -> "OEM Drives" section on TapeSupport (https://tapesupport.us.oracle.com/Procedures/tools_main.php#OEM Drives).

Note: For the Windows versions of IBM ITDT tools, MOS won't allow you to post an ".exe" or ".msi" file so we had to add a ".txt" file extension to the end of them so please make sure the customer is aware that after they download the file from MOS they will have to take the ".txt" file extension off.

tload: Solaris/Linux Utility used to upgrade the FW over the data path. Utility is bundled with patch when its supported.
