Pillar Axiom 600 Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Need to connect System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2012 to Axiom 600 using SMI-S 1.4

Solution

Below is Information From Microsoft:

Each storage vendor is required to create a provider that implements SMI-S for their arrays. These providers are the ones that VMM 2012 interacts with to automate storage operations. Therefore, a supported storage provider must be installed on a server that can communicate with the VMM server. VMM 2012 requires that the provider implement version 1.4 of the SMI specification.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The SMI-S Provider itself is built into the Axiom Pilots and activated by default (refer to the command line manual of your release if you want to disable it). You should upgrade your Axiom to the latest GA release code to take advantage of the latest SMI-S Provider fixes.

At this point, Pillar Axiom only supports SMI-S version 1.3.  SMI-S version 1.4 is currently not supported (3-14-2013).

You can find the documentation "Pillar Axiom SMIProvider Reference".  In this documentation, there is reference to SMI-S R1.1, 1.2, 1.3 on pages 5,6,7.
in R4: go to Support and Technical Documentation
in R5: open a web browser and type in ip address.  There will be several tabs on the screen.  Click on Documentation and you will see Pillar Axiom SMIProvider Reference.
