For the Axiom family, the Automatic Service Request capability is based on the Callhome function to transport the periodic or event driven logs which generate the service request.
When performing maintenance or upgrades to the Axiom, an administrator account can temporarily disable the Callhome function to prevent the event generated logs from creating additional MOS Service Requests.

The Automatic Service Request, ASR, creation in My Oracle Support, MOS, depends on the Axiom Callhome Function.

When performing maintenance or upgrades to the Axiom, an administrator account can temporarily disable the Callhome function, and then enable it at the end of the maintenance.

Disabling Callhome at the Axiom is a faster alternative to disabling ASR generation in MOS.

Solution

IMPORTANT:  Remember to enable the Call-Home function at the end of any maintenance.  This will insure that MOS Service Requests are automatically generated for the appropriate events.

The Call-Home function is enabled and disabled on the Networking screen in the GUI.
