Goal
How to set or update time / clock and calender date on the SL500, SL3000, SL8500 library.
Solution
Time is set on the library using the CLI interface. This can NOT be done via SL Console. Use Service, Advance Service, Remote or OEM. This operation is done by the CSE only.
Following are examples on how to make the changes:
*******************************************************************
SL3000 CLI Interface-Active Card-Side A
*******************************************************************
SL3000> time
time print
time HH:MM
time HH:MM:SS
NOTE: the date and time will be GMT+0
COMPLETED
SL3000> time print
Date: 02/27/2013
Time(GMT): 11:32:06
COMPLETED
*******************************************************************
SL8500 CLI Interface-Active Card-Side A

SL8500>
Customer can do this process via admin.
This is a very simple process that the customer can do.
He will need putty and his admin password.
1. Connect to the library via putty using the IP address for the library.
2. Run the command
time print (This will show him the current time)
3. Run the command
time HH:MM:SS ...... For example time 11:14:00
4. Run the command
time print (to confirm)
Below is an example taken from a SL3000 which uses the same syntax.
SL3000> time print
Date: 09/14/2016
Time(GMT): 12:57:15
COMPLETED
SL3000> time 11:14:00
requestId
requestId 1197101
Success true
Done
COMPLETED
SL3000> time print
Date: 09/14/2016
Time(GMT): 11:15:12
COMPLETED
