WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Note the following points when you replace the operation panel:
When you conduct inactive/cold maintenance or system-stopped maintenance,
make sure that you set the mode switch of the operation panel to the Service mode
before you start the maintenance.

1. The customer should conduct an orderly shutdown of the system software and the PPAR

          XSCF>  poweroff -p 0

2. Verify the ppar has been shutdown with

         XSCF> showboards -a

3. Check that the POWER LEDs on all cabinets composing the system is off.
4. Display the maintenance menu(user must have fieldeng privileges)
    XSCF> replacefru
5. Select the maintenance-target cabinet
6. Remove all power cords from the PSU backplane unit of the maintenance-target cabinet.
7. Check the ID switch on the operation panel and record the BB-ID set for the maintenance-target cabinet.
8. Lower the cable support.

The cables to be removed are as follows.
■ Interface cable connected to the PCI Express (PCIe) card
■ Crossbar cable

Note - Be sure to disconnect the cable of the external interface after taking notes on the

13. Loosen one screw of the CPU memory unit and lower the right and left levers to the horizontal position.
14. Pull out the CPU memory unit by about 10 cm (3.9 in.), it doesn't need to be completely out.
15. Remove the FRONT cover and pull the PSUs out about 4in. they do NOT need to be removed.  All the FANS will need to be removed.

Removing the Operator Panel
