DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
   WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?:
   TIME ESTIMATE: 30min

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
   PROBLEM OVERVIEW:  Replacement of XBU Crossbar Unit in M10-4S
   WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:

System-stopped maintenance

Maintenance work is performed while all the physical partitions are powered off and input power of the cabinet on which the target FRU is mounted is off (power cord is disconnected).


   WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

1. The customer should conduct an orderly shutdown of the system software and the PPAR

             XSCF>  poweroff -p 0

2. Verify the ppar has been shutdown with

         XSCF> showboards -a

3. Check that the POWER LEDs on all cabinets composing the system is off.
4. Display the maintenance menu(user must have fieldeng privileges)
    XSCF> replacefru
5. Select the maintenance-target cabinet
6. Remove all power cords from the PSU backplane unit of the maintenance-target cabinet.
Note Ensure all cbles are properly labeled before removing them.
7. Remove cabels from the XBU.
8. Open the eject levers  top upward and bottom, downward, respectively, and pull out the crossbar unit from the CPU memory unit.
9. Support the crossbar unit from the bottom with one hand and remove it carefully from the mounting frame.
10. Install XB cables to new crossbar unit.
11. Insert new XBU.
12. Execute the XSCF> showstatus command to confirm that there is no problem with the crossbar units after maintenance.
13. Execute the XSCF> showhardconf command to check the hardware configuration and the status of each component.



OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
   WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?:
