1. Halt the server and turn off all AC power:
- Turn the key switch on the Front Panel of the server to the Service position.
- Gracefully shutdown the server by running the ILOM command "stop /System" (requires Oracle ILOM Reset and Host Control (r) user role).
- Turn off all external breakers for the server.
- For maximum safety, disconnect all six power cords from their respective AC outlets.
2. Verify that it is safe to disconnect the faulty power cord:

3. Use a grounding strap to protect the equipment from ESD damage.
4. On the front of the platform identify the lower Fan Cage Assembly:
- Remove the Fan modules from the lower Fan Cage Assembly by pressing the Green button to release the module and place them on a grounded mat.
- Loosen the 4 captive screws on the corners of the Fan Cage Assembly.
- Pull the Assembly until about 1 inch/25mm until it is free of the guide pin inside the slot.
- Pull the Assembly down about 15 degrees to clear the bottom of the scalability card cage.
5. Unpack the replacement Fan cage Assembly and insert it into the slot:
- Insert the Fan Cage Assembly down at about 15 degrees to clear the scalability card cage.
- Push the assembly on to the 1 inch/25mm guide pin inside the slot.
- Tighten the 4 captive screws around the four corners.
