 DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS DOES THE ENGINEER NEED:(IS A SITE ENGINEER AVAILABLE?)

Field training in M10-4S servers

TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

Time Estimate: 30 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?:  

While all  types of maintenance are available for the XSCF Connection Cable  from a    BB    to  a   BB, the easiest is Active/hot maintenance.
For the other maintenance types see the M10 Service Manual 

 

1.  Execute the replacefru command to isolate the target  BB from the Master BB

3.  On the isolated the BB remove the faulted XSCF connection cable by pushing the lock release buttons on the both sides of the cable and disconnecting the cable.

4.  Trace the cable to the Master BB and disconnect the cable from the BB

5.  Install the replacement cable.

6.  Execute the replacefru command to restore the BB to service

 

 

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTION DOES THE CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Verify the status of all domains.
