Goal

I need to change the management IP address of the  Oracle Fabric Interconnect chassis from the CLI. How do I do it?

Solution

Log on to the OVN chassis via a console session, and login as admin and use the following commands -

#set system management-interface -address="IP address/netmask (e.g.  192.168.3.56/24)" -default-gateway="Default gateway IP address" -ipconfig="default/static/dhcp" -netmask= "IP netmask (e.g 255.255.255.0)" -ntpservers="List of NTP servers (hostnames, comma separated)"

The below command will display the new IP address/netmask. It is recommended that the IP address is changed via a console session, as modifying the IP address via a SSH session will disconnect the session.

#show system interfaces
