In order to enable this feature, you must be running R5.4 or higher. It is not recommended that existing customer's utilize this feature without consideration of it's potential impact. New installations or test systems are the exceptions.

Provide customers and support personnel with the steps required to enable, disable or check the status of Enhanced Quality of Service.

Solution

Enhanced Quality of Service (EQoS) requires version R5.4.  By default, EQoS is disabled in R5.4.  A special utility is required to enable it and in order to obtain a copy of this utility, customers must open a service request.  This utility can only be executed from a Windows based platform.

  1. Go to My Oracle Support (MOS): https://support.oracle.com
  2. Log into MOS using your Oracle Single Sign On login and password.
  3. Click on the Service Requests tab and then select Create SR and fill in the proper information.
  4. Under problem description, enter "Requesting utility to enable Enhanced Quality of Service".

Internal Only Section

Support personnel can find the utility on the call home server ca-tsc-scanlog-02.us.oracle.com in the /home/cs/tools/EQoS directory.  Only the strictQoS.exe file needs to be given to the customer.  A README/Help document is attached to this KM Doc.

Prior to using this utility, the following requirements must be met:

  1. Axiom must be running R5.4 or higher (Support tab --> Software Modules).
  2. Axiom must have an Overall System Status of NORMAL (Monitor tab --> Status Summary).
  3. All Brick RAID Controllers FC2 port has a CONNECTED status (Monitor tab --> Hardware --> Bricks --> Brick Name -->IO Ports).
  4. Any existing console sessions on any of the Bricks will be cleared.

Command syntax:

strictQoS [Axiom Pilot Fully Qualified Name or IP Address] [-e] [-d] [-s] [-h /h -help help]

-e = enable

-d = disable

-s = show status

-h = help

 

Example of the enable option:

 

strictQoS.exe 10.20.30.40 -e

One or more FC2 Connections on a Brick RAID Controller is NOT_CONNECTED Status

 

The tool cannot send commands to that RAID Controller to ENABLE / DISABLE / Check Status

of Strict QoS.  Please resolve the connection issue and rerun the tool.
