Goal

Learn how to create a remastered VMware ESX/ESXi 4.x ISO image with Oracle Fabric Director host drivers for ESX/ESXi 4.x slipstreamed in.

Fix

Prerequistes for both ESX (Classic) and ESXi:
- These steps have to be executed on a linux host containing all the required files.
- Please give full permissions to the /tmp directory on the linux machine

For ESX (Classic version)

Required files (All in the same folder)
1. Remastering shell script (.sh) available on our support portal.
2. ESX media (.iso)
3. Driver package (.iso)

Example::

[root@buu esx-4.0-U3]# ./remaster-esx4-classic-iso.sh --esxiso esx-DVD-4.0.0-398348.iso --driveriso xsigo-esx-driver-disk-4.0.0.208167.3.5.0.7-1.iso

usage: ./remaster-esx4i-iso.sh --iso <VMware-VMvisor ISO file> --xgfile <Xsigo driver tgz file>
[--output <filename>] [-d]
--iso <ISO FILE> required VMware VMvisor ISO file (.iso)
--xgfile <XG File> required file containing compatible Xsigo
drivers (.tgz)
--output optional filename for output. Default is
XG-<ISO FILENAME> (.iso)
-d debug. Produces a logfile of remaster-esx4i-iso.log
