SolutionRMM3 port is critical for supportability of the system. It is used for initial installation, system administration and FRU replacement or other system recovery purposes. The location of the RMM3 port is shown below: The default IP address settings are detailed below for a new Pillar Axiom Replication Engine during initial installation or FRU replacement:
The root password to the RMM3 port can and must be provided to the customer after initial settings are completed since it will be used by customer for administration purposes of the platform like power-off, power-on, change boot device, set ethernet address etc. The initial installation is typically performed using the RMM3 port. However, the default Eth0 network port can be used to direct ssh to MaxRep Engine OS to access to UNIX Shell. The location of the Eth0 port is shown below: The default Eth0 network configuration is detailed in the following table:
This user and password provides root access to MaxRep Engine OS. This is different than the RMM3 port user as it goes to UNIX shell. !!! IMPORTANT !!! UNIX shell access is not provided to the customer. The root and all other passwords for access to the Unix shell of the Replication Engine is Oracle Internal and not provided to the end user.
