Goal

Learn how to find the HCA Firmware version on a host with Xsigo Host drivers installed and also from the Oracle Fabric Director CLI.

Solution

This solution lists the commands to display the HCA Firmware version from both the Oracle Fabric Director and the Host itself.
Must have the Xsigo Host drivers installed on the host in order to confirm the HCA FW from the host and also from the Fabric Director. Otherwise without Xsigo drivers installed on the host, the only way to confirm the HCA FW version on host is from the Oracle Fabric Director.

Linux/ESX/ESXi Host:

#cd /proc/driver/xscore/xcpm/ports/

/proc/driver/xscore/xcpm/ports # ls
2c903000f6d4f 2c903000f6d50

Then 'cat' any of these files:

/proc/driver/xscore/xcpm/ports # cat 2c903000f6d4f
Device name: mlx4_0
Device FW Version: 2.7.0
Port: 1

Windows Host:
RDP into the Windows host, and move to C:\Program Files\Xsigo Systems,
You may run the 'Xsigo Monitor' and can find the HCA FW version as seen below:

From the Oracle Fabric Director:
Login as user 'admin' Oracle Fabric Director, then run the command below (in this example finding HCA FW for host - LOGO2):

admin@karnataka[xsigo] show physical-server LOGO2
