Goal

What triggers Clean Request or "Cleaning Required LED" to be lit on a HP LTO Drive ?
 

Fix

Criteria for Cleaning Requests :

- Hard Error - i.e. Read, Write, Positioning error.
- Expired Cleaning cartridge.
- Excessive soft write errors.

Internal head cleaner activated by:

- Time based threshold.
- Excessive Soft Write errors.
- Normal cleaning cycle with cleaning tape.
