Goal

Learn how to change the Fabric Director 'admin' password from Oracle Fabric Manager

Fix

Login to Oracle Fabric Manager as a user with administrator privileges.

1.  Go to Oracle (Xsigo) IO Directors tab -> click on it.

Fabric Director view

2. Click on the Director that the password is to be changed.

3.  Click on "User" tab and click on admin link and edit tab.  Please refer to the image below.

XMS User admin Screenshot

4. Once you have entered new password click on the "Submit" button.

Note : Can also create new admin user from thie tab show.

Once the password is changed the IO director shows its state as 'Retrying'  and XMS will not discover the IO director until it is "unmanaged" and then "remanaged".

The work around to get the IO director discovered in XMS after changing the user password is "unmanage" and "re-manage" the IO Directors. If an IMS error on Oracle Fabric Director CLI,  refer to KB article 1242.
