Goal

Learn how to globally set Oracle Fabric Director CLI idle timeout for all sessions and users.

Fix

CLI idle-timeout command change is effective to just the current session, it does not make the change global to all sessions and users. To verify, this, login into the Fabric Director as user 'admin' and run the command ‘set cli idle-timeout <X minutes>’, once it times out after 'X' minutes, log back in as user 'admin' and run the command ‘show cli idle-timeout’, it will still show the default value.

To set the cli idle-time out to for users and sessions to a particular time, make the changes below on the Fabric Director as user 'root':

1. Navigate to /opt/xsigo/xsigos/xsigos-3.x.x-XGOS/fsroot/etc/
2. Type the command "remount . RW" and hit enter
3. VI the file xsigorc and add the command ‘set cli idle-timeout <minutes>’
4. Save the file and quit.
5. Once the file is saved successfully then go back to /opt/xsigo/xsigos/xsigos-3.x.x-XGOS/fsroot/etc and type command "remount . RO" and hit enter
6. To verify if the changes took effect, login to the IO director as admin and run the command ‘show cli idle-timeout’, it should show the same time as set in the etc/xsigorc file.
