GoalHow to replace a Power Supply in a Brocade 48000 Fiber Channel Switch/Director Solution DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: The replacement procedure for each power supply takes less than 5 minutes.
Identify the power supply that requires replacement:
1. Remove the chassis door
2. Perform the appropriate following action based on whether the director is operating: • If the director is not operating during the replacement procedure, skip to step 3. • If the director is operating and will to continue to operate during the replacement, check the power LEDs to verify that the minimum number of power supplies is functioning. A fully populated director requires a minimum of one power supply slot at all times to ensure power to the director. (The director can continue operating during the replacement if at least one power supply continues operating. To protect against AC failure on the director, Brocade recommends a minimum of two power supplies.) 3. Push the locking tab toward the power supply and pull the handle out and down. 4. Support the power supply from beneath. Use the handle to remove the power supply out of the chassis. 6. Orient the power supply with the handle toward the front of the chassis and the LEDs on the left. 7. Unlock the handle by pressing the locking tab. 8. Insert the power supply into the slot and push the handle up. Verify that the power supply is seated by gently pulling on the handle.
Verify that the power LED on the power supply displays a steady green light. If it does not, ensure that both AC power connector cables are plugged Attachments This solution has no attachment |
