Created from <SR 3-6481942566> Applies to:Oracle Exadata Hardware - Version 11.1.0.6 and laterSun Datacenter InfiniBand Switch 36 - Version Not Applicable to Not Applicable [Release N/A] Linux x86-64 IB switches reports following alerts when voltages gone below threshold Value. (this isssue is applicable to the infiniband switches in all versions of the exadata/exalogic) HARDWARE FAULT: Voltage non-critical threshold breached. Component Name: /SYS/MB/V_2.5V, Threshold Value: 2.3868 HARDWARE FAULT: Voltage non-critical threshold breached. Component Name: /SYS/MB/V_1.8V, Threshold Value: 1.6975 check the frequency of these messages, if these messages are not frequent and it's non-critical threshold breached, probably can be ignored. Check the ILOM snapshot for mentioned component /SYS/MB/V_2.5V Properties: type = Voltage ipmi_name = MB/V_2.5V class = Threshold Sensor value = 2.480 Volts upper_nonrecov_threshold = 2.878 Volts upper_critical_threshold = 2.679 Volts upper_noncritical_threshold = 2.586 Volts lower_noncritical_threshold = 2.387 Volts lower_critical_threshold = 2.282 Volts lower_nonrecov_threshold = 2.083 Volts alarm_status = cleared check env_test Starting Voltage test: Voltage ECB OK Measured 3.3V Main = 3.27 V Measured 3.3V Standby = 3.35 V Measured 12V = 11.97 V Measured 5V = 5.04 V Measured VBAT = 3.06 V Measured 2.5V = 2.54 V Measured 1.8V = 1.79 V Measured I4 1.2V = 1.22 V Voltage test returned OK if you see these message frequently then collect below commands output from switches #showunhealthy #checkpower #env_test #/var/log/messages file GoalThis document provides an idea when to ignore these alerts and if these messages are very frequent and what data need to be collected. SolutionThe message can be ignored, as long as these do not not occur with a high frequency if alarm_status = cleared and if env_test returns Voltage test returned OK then the message can be ignored if you see these message frequently then replace the respective components.
