FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: An SFP has failed or is suspected faulty and needs replacement.
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: No action required, system can be online and active.
WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Identify switch port(s) with faulty SFP(s).  Remove the cables from the SFP(s) to be replaced.  Pull the bail (wire handle) to release the transceiver.  Grasp the bail, and gently but firmly pull the transceiver out of the port.  Position a transceiver (SFP) so that it is oriented correctly and insert into a port until it is firmly seated and the latching mechanism clicks.  Orient a cable connector so that the key (the ridge on one side of connector) aligns with the slot in the transceiver, then insert cable into transceiver until latching mechanism clicks.  Note: The cable connectors are keyed to ensure correct orientation. If a cable does not install easily, ensure it is correctly oriented.  Repeat for the remaining ports as required.  Connect the cables to the transceivers.
