In this Document
Created from <SR 3-6405292150> Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version Not Applicable and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. GoalProcess to reboot or reset the Key Operator Panel on front of library. Does any one have a way or trick to be able to power-cycle an SLconsole touch screen panel on an SL3000 with out opening the door and taking the library offline? SolutionReset SL3000 Op Panel from PUN Card - In the event that the SLConsole Op Panel on an SL3000 needs to be reset, it can be power cycled from outside the library. You do not need to open the door to power cycle the Op Panel. Using the picture below as a guide, insert a pen into the hole shown and press the small button that is mounted on the PUN card behind the access panel. Pressing the button interrupts the +48 Volt DC power to the Op Panel as long as the button is pressed. (Remember, unlike the SL8500, the SL3000 uses DC not AC voltage on the Op Panel). The Operator Panel on the SL3000 can be reset with the 'reset button' on the PUN card. The PUN is accessed from the back in the Electronics Module of the SL3000. It is on the left side of the card cage. The button is located in the middle of the PUN. Once the Op Panel has been reset, the operator will prompted to log on to the Op Panel. This requires the customer to have a Admin Password. Note: This only affects the Op Panel (and the PC running in it). It's a reset of the Op Panel Hardware and it will trigger a new boot up for the operating system running in it(Linux or Windows), then followed with a boot up of SLConsole. This is to be used in case of Op Panel hang for example. It does not interrupt any library operations. Note: This process can be performed by the customer. Provided by Saleem Ahmed.
