FixDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
Task Complexity: 3 Time Estimate: 60 minutes FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS CAP PROBLEM OVERVIEW: FAN Centerplane Failure WHAT STATE SHOULD SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? Domains has to be shutted wown WHAT ACTION DOES ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE: 1. Halt the Solaris operating environment in each domain, and power off the system. 2. Attach a wrist strap or foot strap. Connect the ESD jack from the system to your wrist strap or foot strap. Place a grounded ESD mat close to the system. 3. Remove the front fan trays. 4. Remove the fan tray plenum panel mounted to the bottom of the centerplane mounting bracket. 5. Remove the rear fan trays. 6. Disconnect the cables to the rear fan tray centerplane 7. Remove the 10 screws securing the fan centerplane to the system 8. Remove the fan centerplane. 9. Insert and align the centerplane within the chassis cabinet and replace the 10 screws securing the centerplane to the system chassis 10. Connect the fan tray cable 11. Install the rear fan trays. 12. Install the plenum and the fan tray plenum panel. 13. Install the front fan trays.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES CUSTOMER NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Boot system if not already booting.
