FIELD ENGINEER INSTRUCTIONS

MCPU Board hosts the physical dual core MCPU Board, MaxCPU (18 ea)(into Expander, bottom) MCPU IO0 thru IO17

DR (Dynamic Reconfiguration) OR a domain outage will be required.

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

The customer should DR the MCPU board out of the domain.

The AP_ID for MCPU is the IO slot, i.e. "cfgadm -c disconnect IOx".

Then power off the MCPU board. If DR is not possible, the customer can shut the domain down using "setkeyswitch -d X off".

WHAT ACTION DOES THE ENGINEER NEED TO TAKE:

1: Note the positions of any cabling going into the PCI cards (SCSI, network, fibre, etc). Ensure each cable is labelled. Remove the cables.

2: Note the positions of any PCI cassettes. Remove each PCI cassette from the IO board to be replaced.

3: Remove the IO board

4: IMPORTANT: On the MAIN SC, wait for $SMSLOGGER/platform/messages to show a  message stating that the board has been removed.

5: Insert replacement IO board

6: Perform level 32 POST using "setkeyswitch -d X -l 32 on"
