GoalMany of the Oracle Midrange Disk Array products provide for storage expansion with the addition of the CSM200 tray. The CSM200 tray holds up to 16 disk drives as well as its own redundant power, cooling and I/O. The I/O component (Commonly referred to as an "IOM" Input/Output Module or "ESM" External Storage Module) has two seven segment displays. A optimal IOM contains a two digit value in the display. This two digit integer (It may be any value from 00-87, 89-99) is known as the tray ID. The tray id is soft assigned (each tray id needs to be unique in the array) or may be set using Sun Storage Common Array Manager (CAM). When there is a problem with an IOM, the seven segment display will return an alpha-numeric code. This document details the code and its meaning to assist in troubleshooting the problem at hand.
