DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution. WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/CUSTOMER ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE: Removing the Hard Drive Fan 1.Power off the system and open the chassis. 5.Using a No. 2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the four screws that mount the hard drive fan to the hard drive bracket. 6.Remove the grille and fan from the standoffs of the hard drive bracket and set them aside. Installing the Hard Drive Fan 1.Locate where to install the new hard drive fan. 3.Align the fan under the standoffs with the cable towards the power supply and the airflow arrow on the body of the fan pointing up. 4.Insert one screw through the grille and into one corner of the fan. 5.Thread the screw into the standoff enough to bear the weight of the fan. 6.Thread the remaining three screws through the grille, through the fan corners, and into the respective standoffs. 7.Using the No. 2 Phillips screwdriver, tighten the four screws. 8.Connect the hard drive fan cable to power supply connector P7. 9.Install the PCI card support and chassis cross brace. 10.Install the access panel, power on the system, and verify the component installation.
