SolutionDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: CSE needs to be familiar with the STK SL3000 library hardware. TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes TASK COMPLEXITY: 2 FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS: Make sure the Robot is offline from the server. PROBLEM OVERVIEW: WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?: Refer to the SL3000 Service Manual for complete instructions on removal/replacement of the power supply. This will provide cautions, warnings and pictures that are relevant to doing this task. http://amomv0115.us.oracle.com/archive/cd_ns/E22211_16/index.html The +48 VDC power supplies provide power to the tape drives and TallBot. The supplies at the top, rear of the base module provide TallBot power; these are illustrated in Fig 1-24 on pg. 54. All lower power suppliese relate to tape drive power. These power supplies are on a common bus. All supplies are numbered. These numbers correspond to the numbering displayed on the SL Console screens. To remove a +48 VDC Power Supply: 1. Locate the defective power supply. 2. Press and hold the handle retention tab on the lower left, then pull the handle to unseat the connector. 3. By the handle, pull out the power supply from its slot. To install the new +48 VDC Power Supply: 1. With the handle fully extended, push in the replacement power supply until the connectors are seated. 2. Close the handle to secure the supply. 3. Verify that the green LED is lit. 4. If necessary, have the operator issue the command to place the library online. OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE: Make sure Robot is online to the server.
