9840A/B and 9940A SCSI interface allows 16 hosts.

9840A/B/C/D and 9940 A/B ESCON interface allows 128 hosts.

9840A/B/C/D and 9940A/B Fibre interface allows 128 hosts.

9840 B/C/D and 9940B Ficon interface allows 256 hosts.

T10kA/B/C/D Ficon interface allows 512 hosts.

T10kA/B/C/D Fibre interface allows 256 hosts.

Note:

All above are the total number of paths regardless if you have 1 or 2 ports enabled at the drive. If 2 ports are enabled then the above number is a combined number for both ports.
