REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Battery failure

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
The customer should conduct an orderly software system shutdown.

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED:

Removing and Installing the Battery

1.Power off the server.

2.Remove the server cover.

3.Open the rotating service module.

4.Ensure that the server is properly grounded.

5. Unclip and remove the battery located on the top right (BR2032) from the system board. See the Oracle System Handbook system board:

6. Insert new battery

7. Close back of system cover.

8. Power up system.

9. Set Time Of Date .

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN the SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:

Restart software applications per applicable administration guides to resume system operation.
