GoalHow to Remove/Replace an Expansion Module KLM FRU in the StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library Solution DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS To Remove the Failed Expansion Module KLM Card: 1. Power down the library from the Web GUI Note: You do not need to park the robot for this procedure. 2. Remove all cables from the expansion module and its drive/drives 3. Remove the drive/drives out of the expansion module 4. Remove the drive filler plate/plates out of the expansion module 5. Remove the power supply/supplies out of the expansion module 6. Remove the power supply filler plate/plates out of the expansion module 7. Remove the expansion module controller card 8. Remove the magazine location cable from the lower, left corner of the KLM card 9. Remove the 2 T10 torx screws from the KLM and slide the KLM card to the left and remove it from the expansion module
To Replace the New Expansion Module KLM Card: 1. Remove the new KLM card from its packaging taking care not to touch any of the electronic components 2. Install the KLM card into the expansion module placing it on the standoffs and alligning it with the slots in the standoffs 3. Slide the KLM card to the right to lock it in place and install the 2 T10 torx screws and tighten 4. Attach the magazine location cable to the KLM Note: Make sure that the magazine location cable is kept out of the path of the drive tray so that the cable won't be damaged when the tape drive/drives are reinstalled. 5. Install the expansion controller card 6. Install the power supply filler plate/plates 7. Install the power supply/supplies 8. Install the drive filler plate/plates 9. Install the drive/drives 10. Connect, Align, dress, and secure the expansion module and its drives cables in the hook and loop straps (Ethernet, FC/SAS, USB) 11.
