Solution Type Technical Instruction Sure Solution 1473445.1 : Pillar Axiom: How to Remove a "Stale" MaxRep Host Agent Record
In this Document
Applies to:Pillar Axiom Replication Engine (MaxRep) - Version 2.0 to 2.0 [Release 2.0]Information in this document applies to any platform. GoalThis document outlines the procedures on how to remove a "Stale" MaxRep Host Agent Record. SolutionIn the MaxRep Engine GUI under the "Monitor" --> "Agent Heartbeat", you receive a MaxRep Host Agent has no response for 900 seconds, a cleanup of this Host Agent entry will be required to be removed using the procedures outline below.
Confirm with the customer that the Host Agent is not responding due to the service/daemon not running or if the SAN Host is no longer used/installed before removing the record. Also note, there may be a firewall blocking communication to the SAN Host as well so please perform due diligence prior to removing what only appears to be a stale MaxRep SAN Host instance.
Once confirmed that the MaxRep Host Agent is indeed stale, perform the following command from the browser to execute the cleanup script:
http://<maxrep_fqdn>/cleanup_database.php?name=<hostname>
An example screenshot of the cleanup being performed is provided for review as a result of executing this command:
