REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

PROBLEM OVERVIEW: CF related problem

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

The customer should conduct an orderly blade shutdown using "[clia] deactivate <slot #>" command from ShMM if AMC card contains bootable HDD.

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED:

0) Preparation --- performed by customer

1. Orderly shutdown the blade

1) Remove CF

0. Verify that you have taken necessary antistatic precautions
1. Follow the steps in "How to Replace a Sun Netra Computing Blade (CP3010/3060/3260/T3-1BA) in Netra CT900 chassis" (Doc ID 1467644.1) to pull out the node blade
2. Locate CF to be removed
3. Slide CF out of the connector

2) Install CF

0. Verify that you have taken necessary antistatic precautions
1. To install CF card, use the arrow on the card's label as a guide and insert the card into CF connector
2. Follow the steps in "How to Replace a Sun Netra Computing Blade (CP3010/3060/3260/T3-1BA) in Netra CT900 chassis" (Doc ID 1467644.1) to instert back the node blade
3. Power on and boot the node blade, if necessary

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?:

The Compact Flash card is an USB removable media device. Therefore, the Solaris OS rmformat utility must be used to format the device. The Solaris OS also provides a removable media framework for use with this type of device. Refer to the rmformat(1) man page for more information.
