Solution
DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT SKILLS ARE REQUIRED?: No special skills required, Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) procedure

TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes
REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: FT and cooling related failure
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : N/A
WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED?:
0) Preparation --- performed by customer
1. Help to move the front cable management bracket (if present) to the upper position
1) Remove FT
0. Verify that you have taken necessary antistatic precautions
1. Locate the Hot-Swap button at the front of FT that to be removed, and push the Hot-Swap button for several seconds
2. Locate the Hot-Swap LED at the front of FT and wait for the Hot-Swap LED to light blue
2a. Do not remove FT from the shelf until see the blue Hot-Swap LED on FT light up. The remaining FTs will go to high speed to provide additional cooling.
3. Loosen the two thumbscrews that secure FT to the front of the shelf
4. Use the handle at the middle of the tray to pull FT out of the enclosure
4a. NOTE: A FT baffle seals off the opening once completely remove FT from the shelf. In addition, the Major Telco Alarm LED on the shelf alarm panel might also light red once FT is removed.
2) Install FT
0. Verify that you have taken necessary antistatic precautions
1. Select an empty fan bay at the bottom of the enclosure
2. Press down on the top of FT baffle to lower it as you insert FT into the shelf
3. Align FT with the guides in the bay
4. Slide FT into the fan bay
5. Press FT in firmly to seat its connector
6. Tighten the two thumbscrews at the base of FT to secure it to the shelf
7. Move the front cable management bracket back down to the lower position, if necessary
7a. If the Major Telco Alarm LED on the shelf alarm panel lit red when originally removed FT, clear the the command through the serial port on the shelf alarm panel to clear the alarm: [clia] alarm clear
8. Move the front cable management bracket back down to the lower position, if necessary
3) Remove AF
1. Grasp AF tray by the handle and remove it from the chassis
2. Remove the element from AF tray
4) Install AF
1. Insert the new element into AF tray.
2. Insert AF tray into AF slot at the front of the shelf
3. Move the front cable management bracket back down to the lower position, if necessary
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE:
1. FT Green LED lights up and SOLID
2. Use "[clia] shelf cs", "[clia] fans" and "[clia] getfruledstate 20 [3|4|5]" command to verify FT operation
