Goal

How do users access the snapshot folder from a Windows or UNIX desktop?

Solution

From either a UNIX or Windows machine, snapshot folders can be accessed as follows:
1) Go to the root share of the filesystem.
2) Under that folder, there will be a hidden share called ".snapshot"
3) Under that folder will be listed all the other scheduled folders based on the frequency your snapshots are taken (ie, FileSystem.Weekly.00 or Filesystem.Hourly.00, etc).
4) Keep in mind that it's best to only provide Read-only access to those folders, and not let end-users access their own files directly.
5) Keep in mind that cleaning up of Snapshot folders this way is not the recommended method of clearing up needed filesystem space, as pruning is best done through the Axiom GUI.
