 DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED: Knowledge of SL3000 Library.

TIME ESTIMATE: 120 Minutes

TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
PROBLEM OVERVIEW:  Cartridge Access Port is not functioning and requires replacement.

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: SL3000 is Varied offline and then powered down.

WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE:

Refer to the attached document for complete instructions on installation of CAP assembly.

1. Vary the SL3000 library offline, powering down the entire library is not necessary when installing a new cap. Only the rail power should be off. The rail power is shut off automatically when the door to the library is opened. The CAP is powered from the library rail circuit.

2. Obtain keys to library and enter library at nearest front door to new CAP installation.

3. For installation of a CAP into a CEM Remove 6 arrays (Fig. 1) from inside the module wall located directly behind the CAP outside vacancy plate (outside vacancy plate location is shown approximately with dashed black line box as viewed thru walls.). Identify the arrays to be removed by referencing Fig 1 circled numbers 1-6, or Fig. 2 for installation of a CAP into a DEM. Discard arrays or store for future expansion.

4. Remove Power Connector from array panel bracket by depressing latches on side of connector. The power cable will look like Fig 3A when located at the end of the expansion string. The cable will look similar to Fig. 3B when located upstream from an existing expansion or existing CAP.

5. Remove inside array sheet metal plate see Fig. 4, by taking out 6 ea - #6-32 TXPH (T-15 bit) Discard array vacancy plate as required by location.

6. Remove CAP outside vacancy plate painted panel by removing 10 ea - # 6-32 TXPH (T-15 Torx bit) screws see Fig 5.discard as required. Remove tie wrap from mounting hole, See Fig 5A.
Note: hold onto handle located on top inside of vacancy plate when removing last screw to keep vacancy plate from falling outward. Discard vacancy plate as required by location.

7. Assemble the CAP bezel externally from the front of the machine but fasten the bezel to the frame from the inside of the machine (no hardware therefore shows on the outside of the machine for aesthetics) using 10 ea - Plastite #6-19 TXPH screws. (Don’t over tighten plastite screws!) Note: CAP Op Panel cable hangs loosely until CAP is installed.
Take care not to pinch CAP Op Panel cable. SEE Fig. 7.

8. With bezel installed, PRIOR to picking up the CAP assembly (~ 38Lbs without cartridges) and maneuvering into place familiarize yourself with the features that align the CAP with the frame.
There are basically 5 features on the FRAME that will align with 5 mating features on the CAP. On the FRAME, pictures below there are: 2 rectangular holes FIG 9A (mate with hooks on CAP), there
are 2 vertical lances fig 9B (mate with slots on CAP), and 1 horizontal slot, Fig. 9C (mates with horizontal tab on CAP) to hold the overall cap in vertical & horizontal alignment.

9. With the cap lifted into position, fasten the CAP to the frame using 4 - #10-32 X ½” TXPH screws (T-25 Bit) See 1 - 4 below for screw locations. Two screws on top on either side of the safety box and 2 screws on the bottom beneath the CAP. See Fig. 12.

10. Once the CAP is fastened into place, connect the 48V power cable on the upper right side of the CAP Fig 14. If the CAP is up stream from a second CAP you must also connect the feed though connector located on the other side (upper inside left) of the CAP Fig 13, otherwise connector labeled J315 is pressed into safety cover connector flange and left unplugged as in Fig. 15. Once cable is
connected, anchor the connectors using the Velcro tie down aka hook & loop.

11. Once the CAP is installed from the front of the machine open the EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) shield see Fig. 16, by removing the two lower fasteners using a T-15 Bit and install the CAP open button cable see Fig. 16A.

12. Update the system configuration label LOCATED on the lower back wall of the CEM or DEM see Fig. 18. Update per Fig. 18A for DEM and Fig 18B for CEM.

13. Install the decorative cover onto the CAP as in Fig 19. Push upwards into tab slots and rotate inward until cover snaps into place.
