SolutionDISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED: TIME ESTIMATE: 60 minutes TASK COMPLEXITY: 0 FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS: PROBLEM OVERVIEW: A Sun Fire X4140, X4240 Internal RAID HBA BBU needs replacement WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : 1. Power off the server and unplug (REMOVE) the power cords from power supplies. 2. Remove the top cover. 3. Locate the SAS HBA PCIe card with the Battery Module to be removed and its corresponding riser. 4. Label and make note of the of where PCIe cards and cabling is installed. 5. Unplug data cables from the PCIe card to be removed. 6. Remove the riser board. 7. Carefully remove the PCIe card from the riser board connector. 8. Take the Battery out of the packaging and set it on the packing foam. 9. Slightly lift the HBA, and from underneath it, insert three plastic screws from
10. Reinstall the PCIe card into the PCIe riser connector. 11. Reinstall the riser board: Slide the riser back until it seats in its slot in the rear panel. Tighten the captive No. 2 Phillips screw securing the riser to the motherboard. 12. Re-connect the cables. 13. Replace the main cover. 14. Slide the server into the rack. 15.
