DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS

WHAT SKILLS ARE REQUIRED?: No special skills required, Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) procedure

TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes

REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

PROBLEM OVERVIEW:  Defective battery module

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?
A data backup is not a pre-requisite but is a wise precaution.
System needs to be shutdown by customer

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED?:
*** Follow standard ESD procedures to avoid Electrostatic Discharge

A) Remove Battery

1. Remove the Top Cover

2. Remove the PCI Mezzanine Assembly

3. Gently depress the release tab and pull the battery out of the battery housing


B) Install Battery

1. Carefully press the new battery in the slot

2. Install the PCI Mezzanine Assembly

3. Install the Top Cover


OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE:

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?:
Verify functionality, no service LEDs or messages.
